„Hi I’m GEISTHA (they/them) and I want you to feel something. Therefore, I write sad songs that paint dark pictures. Lofi e-goth hymns to enjoy morbid feelings of sadness like you’re in a grunge coming of age movie. Dark ambient tunes to let you get lost in the night. Fluidity in gender and genre.
Altar is a vibe. A darkness driven e-goth track, a mantra for all the lost souls. A dark fantasy to deal with anxiety and restlessness – clouded escapism to shut off the shrill noises and harsh turmoils of the eerie outside.
The video is pure tumblr nostalgia, an eclectic collection of shadows and writings on the wall. The story is that there is no story. Collecting images and long gone memories, mirroring nightmares and reliving in somnia. Strolling through the corners of the mind that only come alive when we’re asleep.
Gender identity is always a central yet sometimes subversive part of my work. As a non- binary person, I use heartsick songs not only as a coping mechanism but as a gloomy source of selfempowering. Beyond that I want my music to empower others and give queer identities an outlet and safe space. To share a feeling of radical sadness about a world that doesn’t seem to notice us can be a powerful bond and I want to indulge myself and others in that feeling to gain strength.
Since I felt kind of trapped in my musical roots, 2021 marks a new start forme. I want to leave my techno roots behind and write music that is pure and honest inspiration of the moment. My actual genre has anyways always been dark & melancholic. So I take the bedroom producer I have always been to the next level and release a song each month to take my listeners and me on a moonlit odyssey.“
